As part of NPAW, the PDA sent a letter to all postdoc mentors to encourage them to support postdoc career development, and the letter was signed by Dean Scott Lanyon and Associate Dean Yoji Shimizu.

Empowering Women in Science: Open House Invitation
September 29 @4 PM
Empowering Women in Science Steering Committee invites you to join them at their Open House, on September 29th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in 1-101 MRF. Their initiative was started by graduate students and postdocs in the Center for Immunology. They organized events last semester with the Center's support, and recently also obtained funding from the Women's Center to continue their mission.
Come to learn about their goals, resources, and upcoming events, and interact with scientists interested in promoting gender equality on campus and beyond. Drinks and snacks will be provided, so RSVP here.

Imaging Fellowship Opportunity at Harvard University
Harvard University is seeking life and physical scientists with an interest in imaging to develop innovative imaging technologies, lead biological investigations using these technologies, or both, for an exciting position as a John Harvard Distinguished Science Fellow (JHDSF).
Fellows will work as independent researchers; receive funding to run a small research group; and will be appointed for a three-year term (two year extension after review).
Candidates should have recently completed a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering or related areas, or should complete a PhD by the time their appointment begins.
